Weed Science Print E-mail

The objectives of the weed science program are to advance scientific knowledge of the biological and ecological mechanisms and interrelationships by which weeds invade, infest, compete, and disseminate and to develop economically and environmentally sound management strategies to reduce their negative impacts. The graduate curriculum includes course work in plant physiology, experimental design, and advanced studies in weed science, along with selected areas of individual specialization. Current research efforts are devoted to weed management and weed control technology, weed ecology and herbicide fate and transfer processes.
